Can anyone experience the state of flow?

The state of Flow is the most optimal and desirable state of mind to perform on stage and to reach peak performance. When people are in the Flow, or in the zone, they typically experience deep levels of concentration, full involvement, and a sense of profound enjoyment. They feel best and they perform best. The state of Flow can be experienced in virtually every area of human activity and research suggests that people who regularly enter Flow experience a huge increase in productivity, learning speed, and creativity.

"Flow" is a term introduced in the early '90s by a psychologist named Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi who conducted massive research on the state of Flow. According to Csikszentmihalyi, Flow is “a state in which people are so involved in an activity that nothing else seems to matter. The experience is so enjoyable that people will continue to do it even at great cost, for the sheer sake of doing it.”

The good news about the Flow state is that it’s hackable. It has different triggers and preconditions that can lead to entering this optimal state of mind. According to Csikszentmihalyi's research, people who are more prone to experiencing Flow have self-driven, so-called “autotelic personality”. Watch my new video and see if you are one of them!
